Pakistan’s all-rounder Shadab Khan has said that the participation of Pakistani cricketers in international leagues such as Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) has significantly enhanced the tournament’s global reach and competitiveness.
Speaking during a media interaction, Shadab highlighted the growing recognition of Pakistani players in franchise cricket. He said that Pakistan’s cricketers bring not only skill but also a passionate fan base that follows them across borders, helping leagues like the BBL attract wider audiences.
According to Shadab, Pakistani players are known for their adaptability and ability to perform under pressure, qualities that are highly valued in short-format cricket. “Whenever Pakistani players feature in overseas leagues, they add excitement and quality. This benefits the tournament as well as the players,” he said.
He also pointed out that participation in leagues like the BBL provides Pakistani players exposure to different playing conditions and professional environments. This experience, he added, ultimately strengthens Pakistan’s national team by improving players’ tactical awareness and mental toughness.
