JOHANNESBURG – Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities H.E. Sindisiwe Chikunga has called for stronger strategic partnerships between government and the private sector to drive inclusive economic growth.
Speaking at an engagement on economic inclusion, Chikunga said collaboration is critical to accelerating youth economic inclusion, women’s empowerment, food security, and skills development.
“To achieve meaningful and lasting change, we need strategic partnerships that move beyond pledges to measurable action on the ground,” she said.
The Minister emphasized that private sector investment, mentorship, procurement opportunities, and workplace skills programmes are key levers to unlock opportunities for young people and women, including persons with disabilities.
She highlighted food security and skills development as priority areas that require coordinated efforts to build resilient communities and create sustainable livelihoods.
Government has positioned youth employment and women’s economic empowerment as central to its inclusive growth agenda, with calls for businesses to align corporate social investment and enterprise development with national priorities.
