MUSINA, Limpopo – Minister in The Presidency Ms Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has participated in an Inter-Ministerial Committee site visit led by Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development Mmamoloko Kubayi at the Temporary Repatriation Processing Centre in Musina and along the Beitbridge Port of Entry.
The visit forms part of government’s cross-ministerial effort to monitor border operations, improve service delivery, and ensure compliance with national policy and international standards.
In a show of cross-government collaboration, Minister Ntshavheni joined the delegation to reinforce a shared commitment to effective border management, humanitarian processing, and public accountability.
The delegation observed operations on the ground and engaged directly with frontline officials. Ministers emphasized the importance of orderly procedures, safety, and humane treatment for all individuals moving through the port.
Officials said the joint inspection highlights government’s coordinated approach to strengthening border infrastructure, reducing processing times, and improving oversight at one of South Africa’s busiest land crossings.
Beitbridge is a key corridor for trade and migration between South Africa and Zimbabwe. Government has prioritised upgrades and better inter-departmental coordination to address congestion and security challenges.
