Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has strongly rejected the Indian External Affairs Minister’s recent remarks about Pakistan’s armed forces, calling the statements “inflammatory, misleading, and irresponsible.” The FO said the comments reflect India’s continued attempt to distort facts, provoke tensions, and justify its own aggressive regional posture.
In an official press release, the FO emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces have consistently played a stabilizing role in regional security, counterterrorism, and peacekeeping missions under the United Nations. It added that India’s leadership has a pattern of issuing baseless accusations to divert attention from domestic political challenges and human rights concerns in Indian-administered regions.
The FO urged India to refrain from irresponsible rhetoric and instead focus on constructive dialogue to address outstanding disputes, including Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan reiterated that sustainable peace in South Asia can only be achieved through diplomacy, respect for international law, and acknowledgment of the rights of all people living in disputed territories.
Analysts believe the heated exchange could further strain already tense bilateral relations. However, diplomatic observers also note that such exchanges are common during politically sensitive periods and often aimed at influencing public sentiment.
Pakistan maintained that it remains committed to regional peace but will continue to respond firmly to any attempt to undermine its institutions or sovereignty.
