HAVANA / UNITED NATIONS — Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, has announced that the United Nations General Assembly will hold a debate on the economic, commercial and financial measures imposed by the United States against Cuba.
The debate is listed under agenda item 38, titled ‘The need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the USA against Cuba’. It is scheduled for July 7, 2026, at UN Headquarters in New York.
Annual UN Consideration
The item has been a recurring fixture on the General Assembly’s agenda for several years. Member states are expected to address the humanitarian, economic and international implications of the measures, as well as their impact on Cuba’s engagement with the wider international community.
Cuba’s Foreign Ministry said the upcoming session will provide an opportunity for countries to present their positions within the UN framework.
